Eric Garner’s Family Receives $4 Million of the $5.9 Million Awarded
The Eric Garner’s Family was awarded 5.9 million settlement, now the family of Eric Garner has been given some of the money they were promised. As previously reported Eric Garner’s relatives wanted $75 million from the city of New York but settled for much less in 2015.
Now two years later, $4 million of the payout is theirs.
According to The New York Post, a Staten Island judge approved nearly $4 million in payments to the family.
The Post reports that Garner’s 3-year-old daughter, Legacy Jayleen Garner-Miller will receive $1.3 million, while his widow Esaw Snipes, will receive around $1.4 million.
Garner’s other daughters Erica and Emerald Snipes will each receive $163,600 and their older brother Eric will get $204,000. Eric’s other son Emery, who is a minor, will receive $482,000.
So I guess their’s something to be said for a marriage license after all. God Bless his children and wife.
